A Good Day in the Life of Daisy

Yesterday was oddly enough a good day...

I started out driving to work, noticed smoke coming from the car, drove it back home and on the way my passenger front tire blew off my car...
I made it back to the house...got the other car and just figured "stuff happens" and moved on...

At lunch, I got in the car to get an iced green tea and to relax in the park...a lady came up and said "Ma'am your tire is flat"
The same exact tire on the second car had flattened...now both tires are brand new...so I got to the nearest garage, aired it up and just figured "stuff happens"

It was very odd...but these flat tires took my mind off of everything else going on...and i was able to laugh at everything...

So while it may have been a nightmare most times...yesterday...was a good day!

Real life problems to solve can make you happy. Why ?

You have to bring yourself back to the present moment to deal with them.

In the modern world with more thinking time contemplation is more oft dwelling in the past or worrying about the future. Neither exist and both are an illusion. You can be happy in neither - the past so often creates regret, the future so often a place where "I will be happy when some or other condition has been satisfied. When I have that new job or new house." So your happiness is conditional and "...will be here tomorrow" continually deferred and as we all know tomorrow never comes.

The only place you can be happy is here and now grateful for things around you. Read Zen Buddhism if you don't believe me.

Stop thinking - start living is key.

Now if only I could follow my own advice !

Hello Daisy Darling :
Lovely for you to be an honoured guest on Mermaid's Site.
I am 're-tired' so does that mean my springs have gone too ?
Probably an age thing....do hope my chassis doesn't hit the ground witha tired thud......sorry that,s the best I can do !
Keep smiling.

trubes...actually i am doing much better...hung some trim today...dropped a picture on my foot and at the moment have ice on it as it is swelling and broke the skin...looks rather nasty but...i took EK's advice and am sitting here re-reading my zen and remembering why i bought it in the first place...

I had no idea you had this blog too.

I agree with EK's philosophy but find it very hard to follow. I can never stop my head from thinking too much.

I stop thinking after seven pints of Marstons Pedigree...

RB the excessive thinking is hard to overcome...i do it as well...however in this situation it seems i went into overload and it is starting to sort itself out...

mutley...i have a feeling it would have the same effect on me...

haha yeah and me. After three pints I spend more time in the loo than I do at the bar.
